2015 Enduro World Series - Crested Butte, CO
Crested Butte, Colorado; my destination to fulfill assignments for Marin Bikes, Enduro Mountainbike Magazine and Zuma Press wire service. In town was the Enduro World Series event featuring some of the best mountain bikers in the world competing in a grueling 3 days race on backcountry, high elevation trails with thousands of feet of climbing per day. With 130 Pro men and about 42 Pro women on the start sheet plus a stacked group of amateurs it looked to be a great weekend of racing.
But first I had to make the journey, and that included this sunrise shot in Eastern Oregon in the middle of nowhere, pretty much.
After 18 hours of straight driving from Bend I arrived in Crested Butte, a town that lies at 8,885 feet above sea level with a population of just over 1500, unless you count all of the bikers and tourists.
The team area, set up in a park a few blocks away from the main venue, could have been situated in front of worse scenery.

I'm pretty sure that when the rental car agency upgraded me to a spotless Subaru Forester with 5,000 miles on it that they didn't expect me to be taking to 2500 miles and drive it off-road in the Colorado Rockies.
With a little time to kill I drove up to Schofield Pass looking for scenery to shoot when I came across this sign and placed one m\of my new Cascade Velo decals on it
Some of the beautiful scenery along the way
